Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Service description

MRI is an imaging technique that uses powerful magnets to produce a magnetic field. Radiofrequency pulses are used through a patient, so it is able to obtain information about the structure and composition of the body to be analyzed.

This information is processed by computers and transformed into images of the inside of the organism. The study is performed by a technician and the images are subsequently evaluated by a physician. Sometimes a drug (contrast) will be administered to evaluate the organs. MRI does not use ionizing radiation.
