EPI

EPI or Intratisular Percutaneous Electrolysis is an invasive technique that consists of the ultrasound-guided application (with the help of an ultrasound machine) of a galvanic current through an acupuncture needle that produces a local inflammatory process allowing phagocytosis and repair of the affected soft tissue (tendon, ligament, muscle, etc.).

It is able to repair the affected tissue.

Electrolysis is able to start a new process of proliferation of collagen tissue that is unstructured in these processes.

The modifications in the structures are immediate.

High effectiveness compared to conventional physiotherapy and medical treatments.

The frequency of relapses is low, lower or null unlike other treatments.

EPI is applied in an ultrasound-guided manner by physiotherapists who are experts in the technique.

Indications:

  • Chronic tendinopathies (patellar tendinitis-tendinosis, achilles, hamstring, pubalgia, epicondylitis, supraspinatus-rotator cuff).

  • Plantar fasciitis.

  • Acute and chronic muscle ruptures (fibrosis).

  • Myofascial trigger points.

  • Internal lateral knee ligament sprain.

  • Chronic ankle sprain.

  • Tibial periostitis.

  • Iliotibial or runner's band.

  • Syndrome of the tunnel of the carpus.

  • Tarsal tunnel syndrome.

  • Impingement of ankle.

  • Impingement of hip.
